Having spent a few days with family in Goa in a hired villa, I had the opportunity to observe many birds right sitting in th andhe backyard and I made up my mind to come back to Goa once again only for the birding purpose. While exploring the map I got tempted to view the Untamed West page and got in touch with Stephen through chat. Having a guided trip was a first time and had my concerns about the budget, too. A few chats with Stephen elevated my confidence and the honesty and transparency in his talk instilled the trust and me and my wife decided to assign him with the entire responsibility for arranging everything for trip - from airport pick up to the final drop at the end of the weeks trip. He is so thoruough and meticulous in his planning and he understands the requirements of the customer to have an exclusively tailored experience as per needs. He is not only a birding guide but a thorough naturalist, a conservationist. His knowledge of birds, reptiles, insects is thorough and simply amazing ! Being a native he knows the birding habitats like the back of his hand, a surety for an all time happy experience. Besides these technical and professional attributes the one thing which impressed us the most was his sincerity and sensitivity to the customers requirements. For him customer satisfaction and taking care of the customer comes first. A real gem of a person - a very rare combination of knowledge, expertise, humbleness, honesty and not a trace of greed for the fast buck unlike other newbies in the field. Us being senior citizens he took extra care in planning the daily itinerary without compromising on the bird sighting experience. I would recommend him to all my birding friends or even to those who simply love to be in nature and want to be initiated as Stephen is so resourceful that he will have something to offer to everyone !
